A ceremony in which participants float paper lanterns down a river to guide the spirits of the
departed back to the other world.
30th Asakusa Samba Festival
The festival of the samba parade in Asakusa. It started in 1981, when the Mayor of Taito City
invited the winning group from that year's Rio Carnival in Brazil to put on a display.
